JAPAN HOUSE is a residential complex project that was launched at Potsdam, a suburb of Berlin/Germany. This attempt is not only the opening move for A-TOM’s foreign expansion, but holds a purpose to look into “What is Japan?” by handling a building with “Japan” being the base of ideas overseas. German people are known for choosing their living conditions not only for efficiency or work, but for their ideal lifestyle. In a country where the culture of urban development is in a symbiotic manner with nature for decades, how do we ‘suggest’ such lifestyle without ‘forcing’ it, and applying that experience to business in Japan? Since the opening of 2019, our challenge continues every day.
